A photo of a grandparent with the new baby

The baby is here, and Grandma or Grandpa never got to hold them. Upload your family photo with the newborn and a photo of the grandparent, and see them there with the whole family.

How do I add a grandparent to a family photo with a newborn?

  • Choose the family photo that has the baby in it. No one in it is changed.
  • Add one to three clear photos of the grandparent.
  • In the note, say where they should be, for example "holding the baby, sitting in the armchair" or "sitting beside the new mom".
  • See the preview, then download the full-size picture.

About the examples

We do not have a baby photo to show you yet. The examples on this page are a Christmas photo and a park photo, made the same way: one family photo, one photo of the person, one new picture.

Results vary, so if the first preview is not what you pictured, change the note and try again.

Photo tips

  • For the person you are adding, pick a photo where their face is clear and well lit. Looking toward the camera works best.
  • Two or three photos of them from different days help the picture look more like them.
  • Old, faded or black-and-white photos are fine. The finished picture is in colour to match your family photo.
  • For the family photo, leave a little room where they would naturally stand or sit.

Questions

Can I add a loved one who has passed to a photo with a new baby?

Yes. Add the grandparent, or an aunt, uncle or parent, to a photo that has the new baby in it.

Does the baby change?

No. No one else in the picture is changed, baby included. Only the person you add is new.

How should I write the note for a baby photo?

Say who they stand or sit next to and what their arms are doing, for example "sitting beside the new mom, hands near the baby’s blanket". Pick a spot where the photo has room.
