A MyHeritage alternative for adding a loved one to a photo
MyHeritage is a family history service with photo tools attached. This page is for one narrow need, putting a loved one who has passed into a family photo, and shows how that differs from what MyHeritage lists.

What MyHeritage lists
- It is a genealogy service. Its photo tools include colorizing (In Color), Photo Enhancer, Deep Nostalgia (animates faces), Photo Repair, LiveMemory and Photo Scanner.
- Yearly prices on its US pricing page: Premium $129, PremiumPlus $209, Data $189, Complete $299, Omni $399. Some plans show a lower first-year price. Photo tools come with Complete and Omni, or a separate Photo subscription (myheritage.com/pricing, checked October 2026).
- A feature that adds a deceased person into a photo is not listed on its feature pages.
- A free account includes a family tree of up to 250 people. Free use of the photo tools is limited.
What Memorial Photo Maker does
- One job: put a loved one into a family photo, or make one new picture of two people who were never photographed together.
- No family tree and no plan. Your first preview is free with no sign-in, and your email unlocks two more.
- The full-size picture with no watermark is from $6.99, paid per picture.
Which one fits
If you are researching your family tree or want to animate or colorize old photos, MyHeritage is built for that and we are not.
If you only want a person added to a photo, you can see a free preview here before paying anything.
